HOCHTIEF AirPort Retail (HTAR): Table soccer at Tirana International Airport Tirana
05.06.2008
Table soccer event at airport terminal
While Europe's national soccer teams are battling it out for the European Championship in Switzerland and Austria, there will also be soccer battles going on in the terminal of Tirana Airport – but on a much smaller scale. Starting on June 7, HOCHTIEF AirPort Retail (HTAR) and the retailers at Tirana International Airport are providing soccer tables in the terminal and inviting passengers, visitors and airport employees to try their luck at scoring goals. The airport soccer event lasts until June 29, 2008.

"Expect Emotions" – that is the motto of the European Championship and it is a motto HTAR and the concessionaires hope will apply during the airport event as well. There will be soccer tables both in front of and behind the security checkpoints, so that passengers will be able to enjoy a game right up to the time their flight is ready to take off. To play, soccer enthusiasts can obtain 100 ALL chips in all the airport shops, bars and restaurant. The retailers are planning plenty of other promotions to accompany the event. In the duty-free shop, for instance, there will be original UEFA fan articles on sale.

As master concessionaire, HTAR bears overall responsibility for all retail operations at the airport. It provides advice and support for the retailers and ensures an attractive shopping atmosphere with a high-grade mix of international brands and regional products. It also stages regular events in the terminal.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of airport manager HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbH, HTAR bundles the company's competencies in airport retail business. At Tirana International Airport, HTAR holds the master concession for all retail, duty-free and catering business. HOCHTIEF AirPort acquired 47 percent of the shares of the airport company Tirana International Airport SH.P.K. in 2005 and since then has been responsible for operational management.
