On the occasion of the inauguration of the terminal extension at Tirana International Airport, HOCHTIEF AirPort Retail
(HTAR) is today celebrating the opening of three new shops and a café at the airport. Since 2006, HTAR, a subsidiary of airport manager and
operator HOCHTIEF AirPort, has been responsible as master concessionaire for Tirana International Airport's retail and catering complex, which as
from now will operate under the AirPlaza brand.
The new shops and café, which cover an area of around 400 square meters, supplement the existing product range in the AirPlaza.
The retail outlets are operated by Eagle Mobile Telecommunication (mobile telephony), Penelopé (high-quality fashion accessories) and AIM
(traditional Albanian souvenirs). While these three shops are open to all airport visitors, the new Segafredo café serves passengers only,
since it is located beyond the security controls.
In the extended AirPlaza at Tirana International Airport, a total of ten retail outlets, four cafés and bars and an Albanian restaurant now
offer their products and services to visitors and passengers.
As a wholly owned subsidiary of airport manager HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbH, HTAR bundles the company's competencies in airport retail business. At Tirana
International Airport, HTAR holds the master concession for all retail, duty-free and catering business. HOCHTIEF AirPort GmbH acquired 47 percent
of the shares of the airport company Tirana International Airport SHPK in 2005 and since then has been responsible for operational management.
